whey also has an optional README validation feature, which checks the README will render correctly on PyPI.
This requires that the
readme extra is installed:
$ python -m pip install whey[readme]
[build-system] requires = [ "whey[readme]",] build-backend = "whey"
Once the dependencies are installed the validation can be disabled by setting the
CHECK_README environment variable to
